2009-01-05This is THE dictionary of design pattern!
Do we comment on dictionaries?
The stucture is neat and searchable,
I wouldn't recomend it as an introduction though for those who get bored quickly
2008-12-24My grandson wanted it, I got it and he loved it. The order shipped and arrived in a timely fashion and it was in good condidtion.
2008-12-11I don't know if there is a better book on Design Pattern than this book written by the Gang of Four. I used this book in my Undergraduate life and after that I sold it, but Last year I bought it back again. Since its written long time ago the examples are written in C++ but I use Java for almost for all my development and haven't had any problem on translating the knowlege and applying it. I also recomend Design Patterns book by Head First along with this. Because it has more Java base implementation on Design patterns.
2008-12-08dry reading, I didnt read it cover to cover, but that's not the intent of the book anyway. If you're into Design Patterns you ofcourse must-have this book for refference. To learn Design Patterns, start with another book then come back to this one
2008-10-19I thinks this is a great book for anyone wanting to learn or have a refference on design patterns. It does expect the user to know OO C++. It is definetly a book for software engineers to have on their collection.

Four top-notch authors present the first book containing a catalog of object-oriented design patterns. Readers will learn how to use design patterns in the object-oriented development process, how to solve specific design problems using patterns, and gain a common vocabulary for object-oriented design.
