2002-05-31I've been a huge follower of the Beach Boys for generations and adquired this CD to bring to mind my adolecent years when the sun was sizzling, the girls were beautiful and the cars were speedy. This meticulous CD brings back those recollections with Chuck Berry guitar licks wonderful harmonies and hi falsettos. The Beach Boys were America's group borrowing from every genre music row had to offer. Classic tunes like Fun Fun Fun, Help Me Rhonda and 409 are all James Dean style anthems and reflect what it is like to be young and without responnsibilty. If you are a teenager or if you just want to remember what is was like to be youthful and liberated. Buy this CD and stock other classic Beach Boy CD's such as Endless Summer, Spirit of American and Pet Sounds. Prior to the Beatles and what is now termed as the Brittish Invasion, the Beach Boys ruled our airwaves.
2000-06-12This is an okay collection of Beach Boys car songs, but there's some that have been unfairly left out. All of the important ones are here though. However, if you're conserned with this CD's sound quality, you'd do better getting The Beach Boys' individual CDs. Capitol's Beach Boys "2-fers" are currently avaliable as imports, fortunately. The 2-albums-on-1-CD (plus bonus tracks) format of these makes this very easy. Plus, they are all in STEREO up to 1966!
This CD is worthwhile if you just want a CD of Beach Boys car songs - that's what this is for. But The Beach Boys have a lot more great music out there. Don't miss the 2-fers!
