It's probably funny because I'm a Star Wars fanboy. I'll admit to it. Don't expect everything from this movie and you won't be disappointed. It's just simple fun, not to be too overly analyzed. Way better than those damn Scary (or Epic, or Superhero, or Not Another Teen) Movies.

This isnt as good as his earlier films IMO, but that doesnt mean its not a good movie. Nothing acadamy award winning, but its not bad. Sure there are some corny jokes..ok, a lot of corny jokes, but if you don't find at least one part funny there is something wrong with you. If you liked Robin Hood: Men In Tights you will definately like this one.

What a great parody on a lot of diffrent movies. I enjoy watching it just to get a good laugh. It's simpley hilarious, but it's not for those who take Star Wars religiously. They'll undoubtedly be offended at it. I'd cut out a couple of obscene scenes, but other than that, it's pretty clean and simpley funny.

This movie is everything I could have hoped for. It is a classic Mel Brooks' spoof movie that humerously mimics Star Wars. This movie stars a lot of well-known actors such as Rick Moranis(Dark Helmet), John Candy(Barf), Bill Pullman(Lone Starr), and Mel Brooks(Precident Skroob). If you like Mel Brooks, then you will definetly enjoy this movie.

In a galaxy not so far away, a ruthless race of beings called "Spaceballs" with their leaders Precident Scroob (Mel Brooks) and wicked little runt Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) have come up with a diabolical plan to take all the fresh air away from Planet Druidia. A runaway princess named Vespa (Daphne Zungia) is rescued by a stubbon but lovable space captain named Lonestarr (Bill Pullman) with his faithful half-man half-dog sidekick Barf (John Candy) with sassy robot Dot Matrix (Voiced by Joan Rivers) all join forces as Lonestarr must learn the ways of the Schwartz by wiseman Yogurt (Mel Brooks) then try to save Druidia.

excelllent Sci-fi satire from parody mastermind Mel Brooks is one of the coolest and best movies he's ever done! i love how he makes fun of the Star Wars triology, "Alien", "Planet of the Apes" and other popular sci-fi movies of the time. The film co-stars George Wyner as Colnel Sanders, Dick Van Patten as King Roland, Michael Winslow ("Police acadamy"), Dom DeLuis as the voice of Pizza the Hut and even an appearence by John Hurt. This movie is a great 80's cult classic with the best laughs of it's decade thanks to the magic of Mel Brooks who always makes pure comedy gold.

This DVD edition has excelllent picture and sound quality with great extras like audio commentary, featurettes even a tribute to John Candy, still and photo galleries, Trailers, Film flubs, Spaceballs The Triva Game, Spacequotes and Storyboard-to-film comparisions.

Lone star and barf the dog-man try to rescue a druish princess from dark helmut. Studio: Tcfhe/mgm Release Date: 11/13/2007 Starring: John Candy Daphne Zuniga Run time: 96 minutes Rating: Pg Director: Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks's 1987 parody of the Star Wars trilogy is a jumble of jokes rather than a comic feature, and, predictably, some of those jokes work better than others. The cast, including Brooks in two roles, more or less mimics the principal characters from George Lucas's famous story line, and the director certainly gets a boost from new allies (SCTV graduates Rick Moranis and John Candy) as well as old ones (Dick Van Patten, Dom DeLuise). Watch this and wait for the sporadic inspiration--but don't be surprised if you find yourself yearning for those years when Brooks was a more complete filmmaker (Young Frankenstein). --Tom Keogh
